_SUMMARY OF DUTIES_ :
Provides for proficient management of trust and restricted fee real property and processing applications for land into trust, ensuring the protection, conservation, and prudent utilization of Indian lands; in addition performs range administration duties.
Serves as an advocate with respect to the utilization of trust and restricted feel real property holdings.
Analyze request for land into trust and use of Indian-owned trust assets to determine the compatibility of proposed uses with agency mission and owner needs, and resolves any problems that may arise.
Implements a trust real estate services program to accomplish the timely and efficient processing of applications for patents, removal or restrictions, disposals, acquisitions, rights-of-way, surface and subsurface leasing and permitting.
Consult beneficiaries, lessees, land owners and other interested parties about the process options, documentation, and other needs that may be associated with contracting and/or conveyance activities.
Collaborates and coordinates contract and conveyance transactions with supervisor to ensure that the necessary clearances and procedures have been secured and completed (i.e. appraisals, NEPA, TSR, etc.).
Gives technical advice and assistance in grazing permit administration.
Prepares pasturing authorizations, permit modifications and range management plans for permitees.

_GS-9_ : 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Examples may include work involving providing oversight to management of trust and restricted property; responds to technical inquires and explains realty services and processes in the area of contracts management and conveyances; maintain and retrieve information from automated systems performing on-site inspections for compliance; analyzing transactions including applications, land descriptions, appraisals, NEPA, TSR, and other clearances, to ensure compliance; consulting with beneficiaries, lessees, land owners and other interested parties about the contracting and conveyance process, options, and other needs and documentation. Work that included processing conveyance documents, fee to trust transactions, mortgages and rights-of-ways; Trust allotments and evaluating in acquisition & disposal program; examining conveyance applications, checking accuracy of TAAMS; research of trust documents and land ownership records, estate and allotment records to determine ownership; processing fee to trust and land out of trust requests; and handling appeal transactions and cadastral survey requests; and performing range administration work. _GS-7_ : 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level grade level in the Federalservice that included working under the guidance of a higher graded specialist, and analyzed requests for contacts and conveyances of Indian-owned trust assets; this includes determining the compatibility of proposed uses with the agency mission and the landowner''s needs. Resolve routine problems that may arise by assisting higher level specialists through gathering and preparing information, reviewing documents, and discussing routing agency procedures and requirements. Consults with beneficiaries, lessees, land owners and other interested parties about the contracting and conveyance process, options, and other needs and documentation. Work that included processing conveyance documents, fee to trust transactions, mortgages and rights-of-ways; Trust allotments and evaluating in acquisition & disposal program; examining conveyance applications, checking accuracy of TAAMS; research of trust documents and land ownership records, estate and allotment records to determine ownership. _GS-5_ : 3 years of general experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to the GS-4 grade level (see definition of general experience below) _OR_ 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degreein an accredited college or university. (One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours).
_GENERAL
Experience:_ Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to 1) analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) plan and organize work; and 3) communicate effectively orally and in writing.
_SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT_ : Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. S.A.A. is based on (1) Class standing-applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class, based on completed courses; or (2) Grade-Point Average-applicants must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (3) Election to membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society - membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision.

_SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS_ : A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.
_OTHER_ : Incumbent is required to operate a government-owned or leased motor vehicle in the performance of duties, therefore, a valid driver's license is required. Incumbent must have a safe driving record within the three-year period immediately preceding submittal of GSA Form 3607 and be able to meet the safe driving requirements of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
