Supervisory Nurse (ADON)

Represents the health center and nursing program in local, regional and national meetings and educational activities. Ensures accountability to the governing board. The incumbent provides leadership, supervision, guidance and direction to the nursing staff to promote quality patient care and nursing services. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that consistent nursing standards guide the provision of nursing care. Prepares written assignments for and provides guidance and leadership to nursing personnel of varied skill levels including nursing assistants, ward clerks, practical nurses, staff nurses, nursing students and others. Evaluates nursing care by reviewing nursing assignments, patient categories, patient care hours, nursing care plans, discharge plans, patient chart audits, and quality improvement reviews. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Education:
A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School:
Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Licensure:
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Experience implementing and overseeing the quality of all nursing care provided within the health care program. Keeps employees informed of management goals and objectives. Collaborates with other supervisory nursing personnel in program planning, continuous analysis and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures, staff education activities and identifies training and competency needs of employees. Responsible for maintaining nursing accreditation standards for the health care center. Defines and enforces all appropriate standards including, but not limited to, those of the Joint Commission, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) conditions of participation and those of national nursing organization which set the current standards for nursing practice. Represents the health center and nursing program in local, regional and national meetings and educational activities. Ensures accountability to the governing board. Leadership or Managerial Skills:
Candidates must have demonstrated in their work experience or training that they possess, or have the potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as listed below:
Assign to and review work of subordinates, train and work effectively with subordinates from a variety of backgrounds and with different levels/areas of training. Accomplish the quality and quantity of work expected within set limits of cost and time. Preparing assessments of training needs and served as a mentor to staff. Communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to the work. Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
