Medical Support Assistant

Collecting information regarding medical history and nature of the patient/s chief complaint for dental walk-in emergency visits. Communicating patient status to dental assistants and to providers. Conducting a preliminary triage assessment to determine order in which patients are escorted to the dental walk-in emergency clinic based on pain-scale and symptoms reported by the patient. Soliciting and recording demographic data. Monitoring the appointment schedules for accuracy, complete filling of appointment slots, and avoidance of potential scheduling conflicts. Utilization of RPMS, RPMS EHR, DENTRIX, and BMX scheduler to perform the above tasks, when necessary. Prepares dental staff meeting minutes and follows through on action items as directed by Dental Clinic supervisors. Recording of required patient information, such as patient identification and epidemiological data. Receives, assesses, or otherwise handles incoming and outgoing materials, such as patient referrals (incoming and outgoing), requests for patient information, correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-05:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level; OR, 4 years above high school. Examples of specialized experience for GS-05:
Initiate and distribute authorizations after determining patient eligibility; Contact state agencies to determine medical eligibility within jurisdiction; Maintain files of elective procedures; Schedule admissions; Obtain information regarding patient billing. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
