Determines food requirements to cover the regular and therapeutic diets of the cycle menu. (Submits nonperishable requests by the first of each month, submits food order biweekly, bimonthly and meat orders every 3 months contract items directly from vendors.) Supervises the purchase and receipt of food deliveries to the kitchen. Delegates when appropriate, the checking of receipts against orders, the signing of delivery tickets, and the storage of food items according to degree of perishability, size and type. Inspects food storage areas and check thermometers for proper temperature on a daily basis. Oversees the activities of all work areas (i.e. kitchen, dish-washing room, serving area, and storage areas). Assists cooks with cleaning, cooking duties, and manages food receipts. Supervises, directs and assists the cleaning of .all food service areas and equipment, assuring that safe and correct sanitation and housekeeping procedures are followed. Assures that the entire environment is maintained in accordance with established IHS and JCAHO standards. Assures fire and safety standards/regulations are maintained. Observes personnel hygiene standards/compliance. Consults with the supervisor in regard to unusual foodservice order, personnel matters, scheduling of work, and problems that are not covered in guidelines or that require interdepartmental coordination. Attends staff meetings to keep abreast of service unit information, and maintains a friendly, cooperative attitude toward all unit staff members. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
